Nigeria is blessed with abundant solar, biomass, wind, hydroelectricity and tidal energy sources that can address the problems associated with non-renewable energy source. In the face of climate change, we urgently need to find pathways to a low-carbon economy. The level of awareness about climate change is low in Nigeria especially at the state and local government levels, and it is likely to continue if no intervention measures are taken.
CEDI use suitable approaches to clean energy promotion to address the vulnerability that local communities in the country face due to climate change. We campaign on the need to transit from a fossil fuel dependent economy to an economy that embraces and promotes clean energy options. We promote the use of solar products and biomass including clean cookstoves and fuels.
